A Learn to Sail Camp for Rising 3rd-8th Graders!
The Foundry’s Explore Sailing Camps provide youth with the background knowledge and skills to sail one or two person boats on Lake Erie at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Explore sailing camp instruction is delivered by experienced, certified US Sailing small boat instructors that focus on safety and fun. Sailors will spend time on shore learning the points of sail, parts of the boat, knot tying, rules of the road, and more, before taking to the water to practice sail trim and tiller steering. The Foundry recommends two or three weeks of beginner camps before intermediate. Sailors will complete a skills check at the beginning and end of every camp, to determine their readiness to move on to the next level.
