We offer three distinct levels of adult keelboat training; Beginner One, Beginner Two, and Intermediate, as well as a specialized Adult Dinghy Sailing Program. Each program has different learning outcomes and prepares you to join the greater Cleveland sailing community.

Beginner

Adult Explore Sailing Dinghy Sailing

Adult Explore Dinghy Sailing is a hands-on introduction to small-boat sailing for adults. Participants learn steering, sail trim, boat balance, knots, and wind awareness aboard 13-foot, two-person dinghies. Taught on land and water by US Sailing–certified instructors. Some experience recommended.

Beginner

Adult Explore Sailing Beginner One

Adult Explore Sailing Beginner One is a hands-on introduction to sailing aboard our 33-foot sailboats. No experience needed. Led by US Sailing–certified coaches, participants learn core skills on land and water while building confidence and safety on the water.

No prior sailing experience required

The Foundry’s adult sailing programs are your gateway to mastering the art of sailing, whether you’re stepping aboard for the very first time or looking to sharpen and expand your existing skills. Set against the stunning backdrop of Cleveland’s waterfront, our programs combine hands-on instruction, real on-the-water experience, and an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere that makes learning both approachable and genuinely fun.

Guided by experienced, passionate instructors and supported by a vibrant community of fellow sailors, you’ll build confidence, competence, and a deeper connection to the lake with every session.
