About The Center

Welcome to the Cleveland foundry

The Cleveland Foundry Rowing Center is dedicated to opening doors for Cleveland's youth across Northeast Ohio through the sport of rowing and sailing. Located on the historic Cuyahoga River, our center provides world-class facilities and expert coaching to athletes of all backgrounds and skill levels.

We believe rowing and sailing is more than just a sport, it's a transformative experience that builds discipline, teamwork, and resilience. Our programs remove economic barriers to ensure every young person who wants to row can participate fully, regardless of their background.

Through year-round programming, competitive opportunities, and community partnerships, The Cleveland Foundry creates an inclusive environment where confidence, belonging, and excellence flourish on and off the water.

WORLD-CLASS FACILITIES

Two fully accessible facilities designed to serve as a year-round community anchor and lakefront destination

INDOOR ROWING TANK HOUSE

A one-of-a-kind indoor rowing tank that allows athletes and beginners to learn proper rowing technique in a controlled environment. The tank provides real-time coaching, making it an ideal space for training, team development, and community learn-to-row experiences.

RIVER LAUNCH & DOCK ACCESS

Safe and efficient docks provide direct access to the Cuyahoga River for rowing shells and coaching launches. This system allows athletes, students, and visitors to transition seamlessly from land-based instruction to on-water experiences.

INDOOR TRAINING CENTER

A climate-controlled training facility equipped with rowing machines (ergometers), strength training equipment, and space for conditioning. The center supports athlete development, youth programming, and community fitness classes year-round.

COMMUNITY BOATHOUSE

The Foundry’s boathouse serves as the hub for rowing and sailing programs, offering boat storage, team meeting spaces, and areas for coaching and video review. It supports youth teams, community programs, and competitive training.

EVENT & COMMUNITY SPACE

The Foundry hosts community gatherings, corporate events, and educational programming with flexible indoor spaces overlooking the Cuyahoga River. These areas help connect Cleveland residents to the waterfront through learning, recreation, and events.

INCLUSIVE & COMMUNITY ACCESSIBLE

The Foundry is designed to welcome people of all backgrounds and abilities. Through outreach programs like Row. Sail. Dream., the organization provides equitable access to rowing, sailing, STEM education, and waterfront experiences for youth across Cleveland.
