At The Cleveland Foundry, our mission is to create access for Cleveland’s youth to experience and explore our city’s waterways.
We build safe, inclusive spaces where confidence and a sense of belonging grow through rowing and sailing. With expert coaching, the right equipment, and accessible campuses along Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River, we open the door for every young person in Northeast Ohio to experience the life-changing power of water sports.
We are creating an incredible community where young people discover their strength, support one another, and develop skills that carry far beyond the water.

Our approach: How we make a difference
The Foundry was established to welcome individuals of every background and ability to grow through rowing and sailing. Our work begins with access and inclusion, because we believe the water is for everyone, and no young person should be limited by circumstance. Through structured programs, we foster youth development that builds confidence, discipline, and leadership beyond the dock. We cultivate teamwork and respect, creating a culture of collaboration and belonging on and off the water. Guided by safety and excellence, we ensure every participant experiences high-quality instruction and a secure environment where they can thrive. As stewards of our waterways, we instill respect for the Great Lakes that connect our communities.
What students consistently share is that being a Foundry athlete changes the way they see themselves and our city. Your support ensures that every young person who wants to explore rowing and sailing, and all that it teaches, can participate fully, with barriers removed. Through this work, we strengthen neighborhoods, expand opportunity, and create lasting impact across Northeast Ohio.
