Spring 2026 interscholastic sailing

The Cleveland Foundry's Interscholastic sailing program is open to sailors in the 8th-12th grades. The Spring 2026 season begins on March 23rd, with practices three evenings a week, and various MISSA regattas on weekends. The Foundry provides a venue, professionally maintained boats, and coaching from US Sailing certified instructors. Sailing experience is recommended. Please reach out to foundrysailing@clevelandfoundry.org with questions regarding eligibility. Sailors in the 5th-7th grades, and newer sailors in 8th grade, can participate in The Foundry's Middle School Sailing program to prepare for JV and Varsity Interscholastic racing.

Junior Varsity

For sailors who wish to participate in Tier 3 regattas only

Cost: $1325

All 8th graders + Any high schoolers with 3 or less students from the same high school

Varsity

For sailors who wish to participate in all tiers of regattas

Cost: $1550

High schoolers with 4 or more students from the same school

When

Spring 2026

March 23, 2026 - May 28, 2026

On the water practice:

Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:00-7:00pm

Regattas

Includes two Tier 3 regattas hosted by The Foundry.

Dates will be announced as soon as the schedule is confirmed by MISSA.

Registration also includes coaching at all Tier 3 regattas in the Southeast league (i.e. Hoover, Leatherlips, Culver).

We launch from the Historic Coast Guard Station

Team Composition

To participate in Tier 1 and 2 regattas, sailors must belong to a team of both an A and B boat from the same school (a full team is comprised of four sailors from the same school).

Tier 3 regattas allow a mix of sailors from different schools. Team composition is at the discretion of The Foundry coaching staff.
