Explore Sailing Academy

The Explore Sailing Academy is an onshore after school program for 3rd-5th graders interested in learning to sail. The Foundry’s US Sailing certified small boat instructors, and US Sailing REACH STEM instructors use sailing simulators, STEM activities, remote control sailboats, games and more to prepare students for sailing on Lake Erie!

The Explore Sailing Academy introduces students to the points of sail, racing rules, boat rigging, sail trim, weather forecasting, and marine safety. Students in this learn to sail after school program will develop transferable life skills that lead to success on and off the water!
