FROST: Foundry Racing on Sunday
Fall Dinghy Series (Sundays)
Originally the Edgewater Yacht Club Frostbiting Series, fall frostbiting began in the late 2000s under the direction of CC Skoch. The program had great success initially, however, participation eventually waned to only one or two boats on the line each week. In Fall 2017, the Foundry partnered with Edgewater Yacht Club to keep the program alive, moving the venue to the recently-renovated Historic Coast Guard Station off Wendy Park. 8-10 420s are regularly on the line each week, along with 4-8 Jet 14s and a few Lasers!
The Fall series begins in late September and continues through November. We meet at the Station on Sunday mornings at 9:30am and race until approximately 12:30pm. You do not need to bring your own skipper/crew, although it never hurts to do so!
There is a $10 sailing fee per person per day to help cover fuel and staff costs. A $100 damage deposit is required (preferably via check) from those borrowing Foundry 420s. Checks are easily returned/voided at the end of the season if no damage occurs. Donations are encouraged from sailors using their own boats.
Summer Dinghy Night Series (Tuesday)
Come out and enjoy an evening of racing, comraderie and great sunsets. Beginning the end of May and continuing through mid August, the Foundry hosts dinghy racing every Tuesday night. We meet at the Station at 6:00pm and race until the sun sets. We encourage any dinghy sailors in the area to join us for night racing. Lasers, Jet 14s, Catamarans, Thistles, Highlanders, C420s, Optis, Skiffs, Sunfish, etc. are all welcome! The Foundry’s fleet of dinghys will be available to sail for those who do not have a boat to race. Classes with more than 3 boats will get their own start. Classes with 3 boats or less will race in a mixed fleet. Sail your big boats on Wednesdays at the club, and little boats at the Station! New to dinghy racing, no problem. Come on down and we will do our best to find someone for you to sail with.

Storage of Lasers or other dinghies at the Station will be not be permitted due to a lack of available space.
