The Foundry’s Row. Sail. Dream. program strives to make the Cleveland Foundry’s rowing and sailing programs accessible to middle school students by removing financial and experiential barriers to participation.

Engaging youth in the sports of rowing and sailing help to promote health and fitness; support development of non-cognitive skills such as teamwork, communication and perseverance; expose students to scholarship and career opportunities; and provide access to two of our region’s most valuable natural assets: Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River. The Row. Sail. Dream. program connects youth of all experience levels, from the novice to the serious athlete, to the resources they need to be successful in the sports of rowing and sailing, including swimming lessons and STEM education.

The Row. Sail. Dream program is accessible both to student groups, through schools or afterschool and summer programs for students, and individual student athletes. Programs include field trips and school visits for student groups, as well as introductory programming including participation in the middle school program of the Cleveland Foundry Juniors rowing team and rowing or sailing summer camps. Summer camps are one- or two-week long sessions with options for either half or full days; campers learn the basics of rowing and sailing, and use these sports as an educational platform for learning STEM curriculum and exploring careers in related fields.
