Summer 2020 COVID-19 Rowing Opportunities for Adults

Thank you for your interest in our rowing opportunities! As you might have guessed, everything we planned for has changed as our world has, but we know we can safely deliver exciting programming even in this new environment. Please take some time to read through our COVID-19 policies and new program descriptions. There is something for everyone regardless of experience level and interest.

Registration is now open!

We have opened up registration for July and August. More dates may be available in the next few weeks, but we want to be sure we can be responsive to capacity, demand, guidelines and best practices in this ever-changing world.

Small Boat Semi-Private Lessons

all ages with one season of rowing experience

Five 90’ sessions  Monday thru Friday held throughout the day (6am to 5:15pm) at our HQ location on the Cuyahoga River. We will offer 5 timeslots daily; register for one of those time slots all week. Athletes will be using single sculling shell boats unless they are able to row with a family/household member in which case they will row in a double sculling shell. Please register for the specific time and boat to be used as indicated in our registration link below. Boats have size/weight restrictions as indicated. Registration is limited to four shells during one timeslot.

Because of the pandemic, we are opening this program to athletes of all ages who have at least one season of rowing experience. Basic rowing skills are expected. This is not a “learn to row” program. There is a Learn to Row option open to students in middle school and high school this summer.

To our adult rowing friends, if you own your own boat, you can bring that to row in for this program. Perhaps it’s been a while since you had some specialized coaching! If you have never been in a single but you have rowing experience through summer or adult programs, we recommend joining our Beginner SUP Sculling program before joining this program.

Registration closes at midnight on Thursday for the following week.

Adult Beginner SUP Sculling

New to rowing? Only ever rowed in team boats? Want to learn how to scull? Join us for our Adult Beginner SUP Sculling classes. If you have never rowed before, our small group setting and specialized equipment will give you the tools you need to get moving on the water. Even if you have rowed but have never sculled, we can give you the confidence you need to take to the river in our new SUP rowers.

$50 per session, $25 rebate for buying five or more sessions.

Special requests and family rows

Saturdays and Sundays in June are available for private lessons, family rows, and special requests. We think we’ve thought of a lot, but if you have an idea of how to row safely with social distancing and sanitation rules—let us know! Depending upon the number of people in your household and those who do or do not already know how to row, we could do private sessions for singles, doubles, quads or coxed quads. We are happy to talk with you about special situations. These sessions will be priced appropriately based on the duration, equipment, and staff time needed. Please email us to inquire.
